The holiday season is known for its joyous atmosphere, family get-togethers, and parties galore. On the flipside, the season is also known for its busyness, cramped schedules, and unhealthy snacks. Factor in dropping temperatures and decreased daylight, and you may quickly find your wellness routine in decline.
Here are a few tips to help you prepare now for a more enjoyable holiday season:
-
Share the Love
Instead of giving sugar-filled cookies to the neighbors, try giving them sock-drawer sachets infused with your favorite essential oils! Give your coworkers a bottle of Thieves® Waterless Hand Purifier for their cubicle or make Mom some homemade Lavender bath salt. For a resource full of gifts for the holiday season, be sure to check out our 2015 Holiday Catalog. The possibilities are endless, heartfelt, and last much longer than a few bites of baked goods.
-
Make Time for Yourself
Relax and recharge your batteries with a hot bath and a good book! Add some Tea Tree, Ylang Ylang, and Lavender oils for added luxury and a relaxing aroma. You could also get a massage, go for a drive, or find a quiet place to meditate. Taking care of yourself, if only for a few minutes, can make all the difference throughout the season.
-
Take a Walk!
Be sure to get your heart rate up for at least 45 minutes, three times per week. Nothing beats a nice long walk when you’re stressed and need some alone time, but feel free to invite your family along! Plan ahead and make your exercise a priority to keep your body in tip-top shape.
-
Swap it Out
Line your shelves with good food choices so you aren’t as tempted to indulge in unhealthy treats, then plan your holiday menu with nutrition in mind. Whenever possible, try to swap out traditional ingredients with Young Living products. Some of our favorites are:
- Blue Agave instead of white sugar
- Chocolate Deluxe Pure Protein Complete™ powder in lieu of some of the flour and cocoa in brownies
- Einkorn Flour in your dinner rolls instead of white flour
- Natural herbs, spices, and essential oils to flavor your food instead of salt
Do your holiday shopping now to make sure you aren’t unprepared! Make sure you have a few of the basics on hand to start the holiday season off on the right foot and keep going strong through the new year:
- ImmuPro™
- Super C™
- Master Formula™
- NingXia Red®
- Thieves® Essential Oil Blend
- ImmuPower™ Essential Oil Blend
- Lavender Essential Oil
- Oregano Essential Oil
- Peppermint Essential Oil

I’m planning on making Thieves and honey “candies” to give at Christmas.
I love the ideas for handmade gifts using Young Living products!
We’ve already started shopping early! Giving the gift of Young Living products this holiday season.
I like to diffuse different oils around my home, and use others as a perfume. I even use Thieves and Tangerine or Orange oils in a tea..it really lifts my mood especially on those cold rainy days here in the Pacific Northwest. Makes me feel energized.
Love your article! Welcome the Holidays in style with our beautiful products…Love my Oils :o)
i love using “fruit” oils like Lemon, Lime, and Orange in my smoothies. They taste great, and I know I’m getting a healthy boost!
We continue using 1 to 2 oz of our Ningxia Red daily for the whole family. I also always keep Inner Defense close and Thieves close by.
I went to a yl party today and it was so informative so glad I went if you’ve never been to one I highly recommend that if you have the go!
I love YL oils! I wear a necklace with Lavender and RC. The aroma is wonderful!
