Have you ever felt hesitant about bringing up the topic of our essential oil-infused dietary supplements with your health care provider? We want to help you have productive conversations that will ease any nervousness! Using our dietary supplements as part of a wellness regimen is important to any Young Living member, and as with any other supplement or wellness product, we recommend the common sense approach of consulting with your licensed health care provider prior to use.
As you work to address your personal wellness, it’s important that you advocate for yourself. Everyone reacts to and uses our products a little differently, so it’s essential to openly discuss the personal wellness choices you want to make. As you are visiting with your provider, go in with a plan to help you navigate a positive and productive conversation. Remember: Both you and your provider want you to live with wellness and vitality, so don’t hesitate to work as a team!
- Bring in the dietary supplements you commonly use to your appointment so your provider can look at them firsthand, read the labels, and see their recommended uses.
- Share your thoughts about the products and what you’ve noticed while you have used them.
- Seek a provider who has experience and skills in using essential oils and dietary supplements.
- If given advice that differs from your point of view and/or from the label’s recommended uses, don’t argue or act defensively. Instead, thank your provider for his or her opinion and time.
- Read labeling on each product with your provider and seek advice that aligns with the label’s suggestions. If you have questions, you can always find additional information on YoungLiving.com under the “Products” tab.
Having open and candid conversations is a simple way to share perspectives, emphasize teamwork, and provide information. By using these tips, you can learn to feel comfortable discussing how you use Young Living products to support the most optimal and wellness-focused life possible!
What Young Living supplements would you talk about with your health care provider? Let us know about your favorites in the comments!
I just stumbled across this article, which is so co-incidental, because I was just thinking about this last night. I have a fantastic provider! She has always been open, listens, and works WITH ME. Of all things your provider should be, he/she should be willing to listen to your opinion, ideas, thoughts, and work together. I am going to be having my annual physical soon and will be taking my list of wellness products that I have been using to her, discuss how they have been a great benefit, and just see how the conversation evolves. Her opinion is important, as well as these oils and supplements.
My doctor is very open to me using YLEO. She only asks that I let her know if I take anything internally to make sure it does not interfere with my medications. Another doctor I see also suggested NingXia Red to me and has continued to ask me about it every time I see her. I start it this week when the shipment comes in. Can’t wait!
I have recently shared using Ningxia Red with my ophthalmologist and the team of specialists I see. Thank you Young Living for Ningxia Red! I am grateful every day!
Can anybody please tell me which Young Living essential oil(s) is/are best for eyes?
Thank you.

If you would like further information on Young Living’s Seed to Seal process, the quality of our essential oils, recommended uses, or any further information on any of Young Living products, please visit YoungLiving.com. We recommend to avoid applying oils to the eye area unless otherwise instructed by a health care provider. Thanks for your question!
My chiropractor introduced me to Young Living by hosting an informational meeting at his office. I was hooked that night on YL. I’ve been a distributor since then. We are always discussing YLEO and what would be good for me. He has even helped me out with his on-hand supply and then when my shipment comes in I restock his supply! I love my chiropractor and YLEO.
Can I use your articles on my website and Facebook?
Hi Sheryl Dean, You are more than welcome to use these articles on your website as long as the Young Living Blog is attributed when doing so. Thanks for asking! We hope this information is helpful.
I saw my primary care doctor just this morning. I told her I’ve been using essential oils and she said her sister used YL too. She’s thinking of getting for a diffuser for her office. I suggested she buy a Premium Starter Kit that includes 11 oils. I think she is sold!
I’m currently looking for a new health provider (one that is open to essential oils and other natural ways to support your body) because I’m not sure if my current doctor would be open to it. But she does comment on my scent and how I remind her of being in a spa.
My favorite supplement is Longevity. It helps to support general well-being.
Pure Protein Complete – our dietitian was looking for a protein supplement for our son.
I copied all the information and we had an excellent conversation. Our son has been drinking it now for almost a year.
I am getting positive results with Essentialzyme4 and would like to tell my Health Care Provider.
Hi Pam,
What type of results are you getting with Essentialzyme4?? I’ve been interested in using it for myself and prayerfully for my Mother-in-Law.
My choice of the YL product to share with my chiropractor is NingXia Red. I have used this for 14 years!
