Enjoy a Haunting Halloween At-Home with 3 Healthy Recipes

Spooky season is upon us! And while this year may look a little different, you can still keep the Halloween spirit alive with your most spooktacular costumes and haunting home décor! Take some of the horror out of Halloween and give it a healthy twist with plant-based treats for your little ghosts and goblins.

A Spider-licious Snack

Craft these fruit-filled spiders for a haunting fruit snack – or a creepy crawly decoration!

What you need

  • Wooden kebab sticks
  • Plastic googly eyes
  • 1 dark plum
  • Purple grapes or blueberries
  • Nut butter

Directions

  • Use Thieves® Fruit & Veggie Soak to clean fruit before getting started.
  • Gather 16 equally sized wooden kebab sticks. Break them into 4-inch sections.
  • Skewer grapes (or blueberries) on eight of the sticks so that the fruit touches, leaving one skewer end bare to poke into the plum.
  • Repeat on the other kebab sticks, inserting the exposed, pointy ends into the joints of the previous set of fruit-covered sticks at an angle (this will create the legs).
  • Once connected, poke the legs into the plum, with four legs on each side.
  • Gather two googly eyes and attach them to front of plum with your choice of nut butter.

Ogre’s Teeth

A delicious and healthy snack you can sink your teeth into!

What you need

  • 1 apple
  • Smooth nut butter
  • Yogurt raisin balls

This will yield three sets of teeth.

Directions

  • Use Thieves® Fruit & Veggie Soak to clean fruit before getting started.
  • Halve and core the apple and cut into ½-inch slices.
  • Take the two slices and spread nut butter on one side of the apple flesh. Be generous with the nut butter – the messier the better!
  • On one apple slice, line yogurt raisins around the outside edge.
  • Place the other apple slice on top, peel facing out and nut-butter side angled so that it looks like a mouth.
  • If you choose, spritz with diluted lemon juice to prevent the apple from browning.

Plus Oil Potion

Treat your family and friends to a warm and spicy essential-oil infused potion!

What you need

  • 4 cups fresh apple cider
  • 1 orange, unpeeled and cut into slices
  • 3 drops Lemon+
  • 1 drop Cinnamon Bark+
  • 1 drop Ginger+
  • Cinnamon sticks, for serving

Directions

  • Combine apple cider, orange slices and Plus oils in a large pot and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes or until it’s reached your desired heat.
  • Remove orange slices from the pot.
  • Serve warm and add 1–2 cinnamon sticks to each cup.
