I only have YA therapeutic grade lavender (not the vitality one), can I use it in a cake I’m baking?

    • Young Living February 22, 2017 - 10:45 am Reply

Hi Danielle, Lavender is labeled for topical or aromatic use. It is recommended to use Lavender Vitality for your cake as it is labeled for dietary use. You can learn more about our Vitality™ Dietary Essential Oils on our website. Thanks for stopping by with your question!

Hello. I am new to Y.L.,and essential oils in general. I’m curious how you add the lavendar, to make a “spray” just add to water? Is a plastic spray bottle o.k., or do I need a glass one? Thank you in advance for your response!

    • Young Living July 11, 2016 - 2:59 pm Reply

Hi Laura, Great question! We do not recommend storing essential oils in plastic containers. When using essential oils in a spray bottle such as for linen sprays, it is recommend to use a glass spray bottle. Please refer to the label directions for usage. Thanks for stopping by!

Why does the Lavender come with the safety lid like on the Panaway and Clary Sage?

    • Young Living July 5, 2016 - 1:28 pm Reply

Hi Deb, Thanks for your question. As Lavender is now an NHP (Natural Health Product) they are required by Health Canada to have the child safety lids. It is still the same 100% therapeutic grade Lavender essential oil that Young Living® is known for.

For my curly 2nd and 3rd day hair.
    Lavender Spray for Hair
    1/2 gallon water
5 drops pure lavender essential oil
3 empty spray bottles or a glass jar

Fill a large pot with a half-gallon of water.
Cover, bring to a boil, and simmer for an hour
to get rid of impurities. (Check to make sure not boiling away.)
Remove from heat, add lavender oil, stir, and replace lid.
Let steep until cool, then pour into empty spritz bottles.

What is the difference between Lavender and Lavender Vitality? If they are both from the Lavender plant and 100% therapeutic grade why do I need to buy both?

    • Young Living May 23, 2016 - 8:45 am Reply

Hi Christine, thank you for your question. With the same constituents and purity, our Vitality line is labeled for dietary use, while the topical/aromatic line is labeled for topical and aromatic uses. We recommend referring to the usage directions on each individual product label. Thanks for stopping by!
