Cat lovers – be sure to google what can and cannot be used around your cat! Some oils are poisonous to our beloved babies.

    • Hi Kathi, Yes, special caution should be exercised when using essential oils with cats. Cats are also generally averse to citrus essential oils and high-phenol oils. For a list of high phenol oils, you can reach out to our Product Support Team at productsupport@youngliving.com. Thanks for stopping by!

on my lavender bottle it says that it should only be diffused for up to 1 hour 3 times a day, however if I am diffusing this at bedtime, it stays on much longer after I have fallen asleep. Is this an issue?

    • Young Living

Hello Mariah, The amount of time for diffusing is a safety standard put in place to address certain possible sensitivity issues for longer diffusion periods. If you have additional concerns, we recommend speaking to your healthcare provider. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Danielle

I only have YA therapeutic grade lavender (not the vitality one), can I use it in a cake I’m baking?

    • Young Living

Hi Danielle, Lavender is labeled for topical or aromatic use. It is recommended to use Lavender Vitality for your cake as it is labeled for dietary use. You can learn more about our Vitality™ Dietary Essential Oils on our website. Thanks for stopping by with your question!

  • Laura Massey

Hello. I am new to Y.L.,and essential oils in general. I’m curious how you add the lavendar, to make a “spray” just add to water? Is a plastic spray bottle o.k., or do I need a glass one? Thank you in advance for your response!

    • Young Living

Hi Laura, Great question! We do not recommend storing essential oils in plastic containers. When using essential oils in a spray bottle such as for linen sprays, it is recommend to use a glass spray bottle. Please refer to the label directions for usage. Thanks for stopping by!

Why does the Lavender come with the safety lid like on the Panaway and Clary Sage?

    • Young Living

Hi Deb, Thanks for your question. As Lavender is now an NHP (Natural Health Product) they are required by Health Canada to have the child safety lids. It is still the same 100% therapeutic grade Lavender essential oil that Young Living® is known for.

For my curly 2nd and 3rd day hair.
    Lavender Spray for Hair
    1/2 gallon water
5 drops pure lavender essential oil
3 empty spray bottles or a glass jar

Fill a large pot with a half-gallon of water.
Cover, bring to a boil, and simmer for an hour
to get rid of impurities. (Check to make sure not boiling away.)
Remove from heat, add lavender oil, stir, and replace lid.
Let steep until cool, then pour into empty spritz bottles.
