We all have our favorite oils that we use on a daily basis. They can be taken internally, applied topically, or diffused aromatically for their therapeutic benefits. At this year’s Orlando convention Gary introduced an exciting new way to apply oils topically—Young Living’s patent-pending Roller Fitments. The response to this new product has been overwhelming: “These are great,” and “These are easy to use,” were just some of the frequent comments heard in the product expo.
Here are a few tips to remember when using the Roller Fitments:
- The fitments and caps are designed to fit on both the 5-ml and 15-ml bottles.
- To insert the fitment, remove the bottle orifice, insert the roller fitment into the bottle opening, and tighten the cap while pressing down until the fitment ring is flush with the bottle opening. Properly securing the cap is critical to avoid leaking and to ensure the fitment is properly inserted.
- Roller fitments were designed for use with the majority of Young Living bottles. With that in mind, there are certain bottle designs with which the fitments are not compatible. You can be sure your roller fitment will work with your bottle if the “Sb” logo is located on the bottom of the bottle.
- The fitments have an internal reservoir that holds oil and allows you to apply your favorite oils with the bottle in an upright position. Each 2” stroke is equivalent to one drop.
- Citrus oils can be very hard on plastic; overtime the citrus oils can eat away at the plastic causing it to leak. When using citrus oils make sure prior to each use that the ball on the Roller Fitment is intact and secure.
On a similar note, and in case you haven’t heard, Young Living has also made significant improvements to the roll-on bottles for Valor, Tranquil, Stress Away, Breathe Again, and Deep Relief. Most of these blends are exclusive to our roll-ons line and continue to be some of our most popular products.

Is there a place /website to purchase empty bottles marked sb?
Hello Lynnette, We do sell empty bottles, only the AromaGlide Roller Fitments. Thanks for stopping by!
I just got a bottle of Progessence plus. It has the Sb on the bottom so it seems like the roller figment should work but no matter what I do I can’t get the roller on. Any suggestions?
Hi Mariana, Even though the fitments are designed to work with the Sb bottles, there is always variation in blown glass and plastic that will make the fitments tighter in some bottles and looser in others. If you find a fitment does not seem to go in properly, we suggest trying a different fitment or using the roller with a different bottle. Thanks for stopping by with your question!
How do I wash my EO bottle to re-use it? in the sink? dishwasher?
Hi Nicole, We recommend hand washing the bottles with soap and water or using rubbing alcohol and shaking the bottle once covered with the cap. Thanks for stopping by with your question.
How do you remove the old style fitments in order to recycle your bottle? Not the new ones but old style as pictured above?
Hi Tiffany, Once you have attached one to a bottle of oil, the Roller Fitments are not intended to be removed and should be discarded with the bottle once emptied. Thanks for stopping by with your question!
I just got my first order. It came with a stress away and instructions to add the roller ball.
Are the 10ml roll-ons, e.g., Stress Away Roll-on, refillable?
Hi Angie, great question! The bottles are not designed for refilling, though you may use them for that purpose. You may want to use one in entirety and then try opening and refilling it will something to see how easy it is for you to do before refilling it with something of more value. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi
Can I use the stainless steel aromaglide on a bottle of frankincense. The package says not to be used with citrus oils and frankincense. A little confused.
Hello Mary, It was not recommended to use Frankincense or Citrus Essential Oils with previous models of the Roller Fitments as these oils may cause an increased flow of oil or the roller ball to fall out. However, our current AromaGlide® Fitments should be compatible with all essential oils that have an “Sb” on the bottom of the bottle. If you wish to proceed with using the roller fitments you have with Frankincense, please be sure to test the roller ball before each application to ensure it is securely in place.
I bought the Active & Fit kit that comes with 3 roller filaments and lids with the five 5ml bottles and the filaments do not fit in any of these bottles. they are too loose and come right out.
Hi Heather, Please make sure the oil bottles have an ‘Sb’ on the bottom. Please also try applying a small amount of carrier oil around the rim of the oil bottle. Make sure the fitment is being attached per the following instructions, remove the bottle orifice, insert the roller fitment into the bottle opening, and tighten the cap while pressing down until the fitment ring is flush with the bottle opening. We do not recommend using the oil with a roller if the fitment is not fitting correctly. If you try these things and continue to experience difficulty, please contact Member Services. Thank you for stopping by!
I have the opposite problem from most. My roll-on fitments are too small for my 5 or 15 ml bottles. They sit inside the bottle, but are very loose and insecure. What’s the secret, please??

So I should not use a plastic roll-on ball even if the bottle is glass?
Great question, Paola! Using essential oils and essential oil products safely in conjunction with plastic containers depends highly on the type of plastic, the concentration of essential oils, and the amount of time the oils are stored in the container or the amount of time the essential oils come in contact with the plastic parts. Our roller fitments are primarily composed of stainless steel and the plastic portion of the fitment is made of a high quality plastic which can safely be used in this manner. We hope this information is helpful!
If you push one side down first and kind of give the roller a rocking motion it should fit. I was having the same problem with my 5ml bottle but just gave it a little shimmy. I did use a paper towel to make it a little easier to hold onto. Hope this helps!!!
It seems that these do not fit on the 5ml bottles. I have tried two fitments on several bottles, all marked sb, and they won’t go in with the cap or with force. It is as though the roller piece is too big and simply doesn’t fit. Quite the disappointment.
I can’t get my rollerball to work on the 5 ml bottle. What’s the secret?
How do you remove the roll-on to get the other cap back on?
I can’t get the rollerball to snap on my 5ml bottle. No problem on the 15ml, but impossible on the 5ml. The cap seems to big to snap it onto the smaller bottles.
How does ne get the new rollon off the 5 mil or 15 mil bottle/
It is designed to be discarded with the bottle. I do know it is possible to remove, although removing and reinstalling it weakens the seal.
