It is also important for us to encourage our customers to recycle and repurpose our packaging.

1. Gift Wrapping

10 Ways to Reuse Young Living Packaging

Create your very own custom gift wrapping using your Young Living packaging!

You can use a variety of items you already have at home to create beautiful, unique gift wrapping. Plus, you’re not only saving money, but you’re also doing your bit for the planet, talk about win-win!

What you need:

  • Young Living packaging
  • Decorative string
  • Dried flowers

How to:

  1. Wrap the gift in some of the brown packaging from your Young Living order.
  2. Then cover your gift in the gorgeous honeycomb cut packaging for that boho look.
  3. Wrap in some decorating string that you may have laying around the house.
  4. Get some dried flowers and thread through the string to finish off your gift wrapping.

There you have it, some beautiful packaging that didn’t cost you a cent!

2. Vase

Vases can add a sophisticated touch to any home but they can be an expensive investment depending on the size and quality.

Why not get creative and make your own vases at home, using your old NingXia Red bottles? They are the perfect size for table decorations, plus you can customise them to suit your own unique style.

This vase is so easy to make and a fun activity to do with your friends.

What you need:

  • Clean Ningxia Red bottle
  • Chalk paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Glue
  • Lace trim

How to:

  • Paint the entire bottle with chalk paint (allow to completely dry)
  • Cut three pieces of lace trim (2x 10 cm & 1 x 15cm)
  • Glue two smaller pieces around the neck of the bottle – hold until dry
  • Glue 15cm piece onto the lower section of the bottle – hold until dry

TIP For a little extra challenge, try making your own paper palms, flowers and leaves.

3. Veggie Patch

Veggie Patch

There is something so rewarding about growing your own food, plus it’s better for you and the planet!

Try creating your own veggie patch using your old Young Living packaging, it’s easy to make and fun to get the kids involved.

WARNING It might get a little messy! 😉

What you need:

  • NingXia Red packaging inserts
  • Potting mix
  • Seed sachets
  • Water

How to:

  1. Grab your NingXia Red packaging inserts and pop them where you’d like your veggie patch to go.
  2. Grab whatever seeds you’d like to plant.
  3. Fill the grooves of the packaging with a good quality potting mix, placing the seed sachets around, topping up and watering them in.
  4. Wait for the results.

TIP This will definitely be a lesson in patience for your kids, they may start looking to see if is “anything green popping out” after about 2 hours…

4. Cardboard Car

Cardboard Car

Looking for the perfect arts and crafts activity to do with the kids? We’ve got your back!

You need to try this Cardboard Car DIY using empty Young Living boxes and other recycling items.

What you need:

  • Car Body: Young Living Boxes
  • Steering Wheel: Small Cake Board + Baking Paper Cardboard Tube
  • Chassis: Recycled Board, Broken Lawnmower Wheels, 2x containers, 12” PVC Pipes x2
  • Glue gun

How to:

  1. Make a hole on the sides of the container and run the 12” PVC pipes, keep the PVC pipes in place using a strong heat glue gun.
  2. Insert the broken mower wheel steel bars thru the PVC pipes and attached the wheels.
  3. Screw the containers onto the recycled board.
  4. Cut the top portion of the Young Living Box, and put them together to make the car bumper. Then glue onto the narrow side of the Young Living box
  5. Cut another box to make the windshield. Use the container handle as a frame for the windshield.
  6. Glue the baking paper cardboard tube onto the box, then attach the cake board as the steering wheel.
  7. Put the car body together with the chassis, then place a small foldable chair.
  8. Let your kids design the ride-on car.
  9. Enjoy the ride!

The kids are going to love their new ride, plus it will entertain them for hours after it’s created!

5. Spray Bottles

If you LOVE Thieves, then you will love creating your own custom sprays, especially for your home!

Repurposing Young Living bottles can be a great way to save money on purchasing new bottles to hold your DIYs and you’re reducing your waste.

What you need:

  • Empty Young Living bottles.
  • Thieves Household Cleaner.
  • Spray bottle nozzel.

How to:

  1. Clean Young Living bottles.
  2. Add 1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner.
  3. Fill with water.
  4. Pop spray bottle lid.
  5. Spray away.

6. Roller Bottles

Roller Bottles

Why buy roller bottles when you can re-use your pre-loved essential oil bottles? Plus, they are tinted so the sun can’t spoil your oil and they look amazing.

What you need:

How to:

  1. Clean and sanitise empty essential oil bottles.
  2. Add your desired roller blend essential oils.
  3. Fill with V6 Vegetable Oil.
  4. Pop on the AromaGlide Roller Fitments.
  5. Roll away.

7. Custom Foaming Hand Soap

Foaming Hand Soap

Making your own foaming hand soap is super easy and a great way to recycle your foaming pump bottles.

What you need:

  • Empty Thieves Hand Soap bottle
  • Label maker
  • Essential Oils
  • Water

How to:

  1. Clean and sanitise the empty bottle.
  2. Remove bottle label.
  3. Add 2 Tablespoons Young Living Bath & Shower Gel.
  4. Add 20 drops of Lemongrass essential oil.
  5. Top with boiled and then cooled water.

8. Shot Glass

Create your own mini samples for your friends and family by popping your creation into clean BLOOM by Young Living Collagen Complete bottle – so cute and so thoughtful.

The bottles have a pretty tint and perfect for travel. You can also use these bottles to hold your health shots and NingXia Red for on-the-go!

What you need:

  • BLOOM by Young Living Collagen Complete bottle
  • Paint of choice

How to:

  1. Clean and sanitise empty bottle.
  2. Paint lid with the desired colour.
  3. Fill with desired formula.

Wall Art

Save your essential oil bottles for your beautiful home décor pieces! From fairy lights to artwork, there are so many things you can do with them. Get creative!

What you need:

  • Wooden board
  • 3 essential oil bottles
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Twine
  • Dry plants or Lavender

How to:

  1. Glue wood plant to board.
  2. Cut the twine and glue two ends to the wood plank.
  3. Glue the bottles to the wood plank.
  4. Place dried or real plants in the bottles.

10. Recycling Bags Dispenser Box

What do you do with your empty Ningxia Red Singles box when it arrives? If it’s going straight to the recycling bin, why not make your very own storage boxes instead?

What you need:

  • NingXia Red Singles box
  • Young Living packaging
  • Glue

How to:

  1. Cover the box using the beautiful honeycomb packing as well as the white paper packaging.
  2. Fold and use adhesive to stick the sides together.
  3. Trim off any excess.
  4. Place the pile of Recycling Bags in the box.
