Hi I have marble floors and natural stone in my bathroom. Is thieves safe to use on this kind of material?

    Thank you in advance

    • Young Living March 1, 2017 - 1:05 pm Reply

Hi Susan, The Thieves® Household Cleaner is safe at a 15;1 dilution or higher for most non-porous surfaces. We suggest performing a small spot test in an inconspicuous location before using the product on the entire surface. If the surface appears porous, we would encourage you to use another product that may be better suited to the surface.

Regarding the thieves cleaner. While it comes in a plastic bottle, I’ve heard it needs to be in a glass bottle. Any thoughts on this?

    • Young Living February 22, 2017 - 9:27 am Reply

Hi Stacie, The plastic used in packaging our products including the sprays and Thieves® Household Cleaner is high-end plastics that are formulated to be able to hold the essential oils and retain safety. In addition, the essential oils included in the products are not potent enough to damage the plastic packaging. Please be assured, we strive to use the best products and packaging based on the products and their use.

We do not recommend storing undiluted essential oils in plastic containers. Using essential oils and essential oil products safely in conjunction with plastic containers depends highly on the type of plastic, the concentration of essential oils, and the amount of time the oils are stored in the container or the amount of time the essential oils come in contact with the plastic parts.

Hi Terri, The Thieves® Household Cleaner does not contain any ingredients derived from nuts. Thanks for stopping by with your question!

I have engineered hardwood floors. We just finished a complete kitchen remodel. I need to clean my floors and want to use Thieves. Could I use the same recipe as the one for wooden cabinets? Has anyone mopped wood floors with Thieves?

    • Young Living September 19, 2016 - 12:56 pm Reply

Hi Gina, We feel that there would probably be no effects on the hardwood floor, but we recommend doing a spot test in an inconspicuous location before cleaning the entire floor. You may also want to contact the manufacturer for any information on the finish that may interact negatively with Thieves Household Cleaner. Thanks for stopping by with your question!

Try putting undiluted white vinegar in a spray bottle with four or five drops of YL Lemon EO. The vingar kills the mold/mildew and the lemon makes for a clean scent.

I use Theives cleaner to disinfect my cutting boards and countertops. In a 4oz. bottle, I use 1 capful Theives cleaner, or 10 drops of Theives oil and fill the rest of the bottle with water. I shake the bottle each use and spray it on cutting boards or countertops, faucets. After I wash the cutting board, I apply the Theives mixture and leave it on these areas to disinfect. Don’t have to rinse it off.

A plumber told me to run two trays of ice cubes through my garbage disposal which not only cleans out any gunk stuck to the walls of the disposal, but it is good for the disposal blades. And I too like to use some Thieves cleaner.
