Just wanting to know if Thieves Household Cleaner is recommended for cleaning bamboo flooring. TIA!

    • Young Living March 7, 2017 - 12:47 pm Reply

Hi Allie, We recommend doing a spot test in an inconspicuous location before cleaning the entire floor. You may also want to contact the manufacturer for any information on the finish that may interact negatively with Thieves Household Cleaner. If the surface appears porous, we would encourage you to use another product that may be better suited to the surface. Thanks for stopping by with your question!

If the household cleaner was to be used in a state regulated day care center what would be the contact time? For example: The diaper changing area was cleaned with Thieves Cleaner, how long would they have to wait before changing another diaper?

Can the thieves glass cleaner be used on tinted windows as well? Can’t seem to find anything regarding tinted windows. Thanks!

    • Young Living February 22, 2017 - 2:35 pm Reply

Hi Jessica, We suggest diluting according to the label and doing a spot test in an inconspicuous location before using the Thieves® Household Cleaner on the entire window. If the surface appears porous we would encourage you to use a different product that may be better suited to the surface. Thanks for stopping by with your question!

I understand this cleaner is safe to use around kids, but what if my child accidentally ingested it? I want to completely rid my home of dangerous cleaners.

    • Young Living February 6, 2017 - 1:08 pm Reply

Hi Priscilla, It is recommended to keep this product out of reach of children. However, if a child or infant swallows an essential oil, administer milk, Agave, honey or other safe, oil-soluble liquid. If dilution does not provide relief, contact your health care professional. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

I used thieves to clean my ovens, what a great job and the smell was wonderful. 1/2 cup White vinegar, 1 capful thieves household cleaner, 4 drops thieves oil,4 drops lemon oil. Sprinkle baking soda on bottom of oven then pour mixture of oils/vinegar, let bubble up and set a few minutes. Wipe up and the oven is cleaned. No nasty odors.

I’ve had someone ask if her pine kitchen cabinets can be cleaned with THC. They are old & not sealed. Will THC mixed with water hurt the cabinets or should she use THC with Olive Oil to degrease the cabinets?
    Thank you!

Hi Ellen, If the Thieves® Household Cleaner is used according to the label directions and dilution ratios there should be no negative effects from using it on the wood cabinets. We recommend doing a spot test in an inconspicuous location before cleaning all the cabinets.

I use it on my wood floors with the terry cloth dry mop. The recipe is adapted from my grandmother’s recipe to clean her floors. It cleans great and leaves no residue.
Mix ingredients in 32 oz spray in the order given
        15-18 oz Distilled Water
        1/8 cup Distilled White Vinegar
        2-4 Tablespoons Grapeseed Oil
        1 cap Thieves Household Cleaner
        5 drops YL Lemon Oil
Shake before each use. Spray a small area of floor then mop it up and repeat on the next section.

No more holding my breath while spraying harsh chemicals to clean my home. My kids even enjoy the scent as they help with daily chores.
