Q. What changes have you made to stabilize the website when holiday products are turned back on?
A. We have added a queue system, or virtual waiting line, to our website that will activate once we have reached capacity for our system. If you are in the queue, it will show the current number of shoppers on the site, what number you are in the queue, and an estimated wait time.
Q. How will the queue work?
A. If the queue is activated based on traffic, a waiting page will pop up. You can leave your browser open and wait, or you can enter your email address to receive a notification when it’s your turn to shop. If you’ve opted in to an email, you can close your browser without losing your place in line. Once you receive your email notification, you will be redirected to the VO to log in and start shopping. Your place in line is tied to the device (computer or phone) you used to get in the queue, so you will need to use the same one to log in to the VO.
Q. How will you prevent members from trying to get into multiple spots in the queue for themselves or their team?
A. Your place in line is tied to the browser on your device, so members won’t be able to share places in line with anyone else.
Q. How long will the queue be in place?
A. We anticipate leaving the queue up indefinitely. We have one site for all markets; if the system reaches peak capacity, the queue will activate across all markets. Everyone will use the queueing system until the volume of shoppers drops.
