  • Hello Pamela!
We didn't try this recipe with other substitutions, so we don't have any recommendations. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause! As an alternative, try putting a few drops of the suggested essential oils in your bath water. Let us know how it goes! Thanks for stopping by!

    • Hi Racheal, Great question! We would recommend grinding the oats in a food processor or coffee grinder to create a fine flour-like texture. If you do not grind the oats, the Lavender-Oatmeal Bath Soak may have a hard time going down your bath or shower drain. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Hi...I want to make this for a gift basket...how long will it last before going (for lack of better words....bad)

    • Hi Michele, Unfortunately we do not have an estimated time frame for this recipe. We recommend it be used soon after a batch as been created. Thanks for stopping by with you question!

  • I'm making this as a gift for my friend... But I don't have Tea Tree Oil yet. (Just started using YL last week) and recommended blends from my starter kit? I also have Cedarwood?

    • Hi Pricila, Welcome to the YL Family! Cedarwood oil is a great alternative and excellent to use with skin. Thanks for stopping by with your question!

  • Gentle Baby and/or Geranium turn this into an amazing bath soak for babies right before bedtime! Or you can be like me and make it, toss it in a jar and then leave 1/4 of it for the kids and use the rest for you:)

  • I have used regular oats and it worked fine, in fact, many years ago, that is all that was available. Try making little bags using cheesecloth, tie it off.

  • Can I use Old Fashioned Oats instead? I never buy or eat anything "instant" that doesn't come that way from nature.

    • I use the Old Fashioned Oats all the time with the essential oils and they work great. I am like you and NEVER buy anything instant.

    • Just so you know, quick oats are not the same thing as instant oatmeal. Quick oats and Old fashioned oats are basically the same thing, processed a little different and cut smaller for quick oats. Instant oatmeal has very little oats in it. The only difference I could see would be that quick oats may absorb the oils better, but perhaps not. Since you grinding them into a powder anyway it probably makes no difference. Just don't use instant oatmeal. lol I hope that helps. =)

      • I'm new to YL! Loving it . Thank you for the info, I knew they were basically the same but knew there had to be a scant differnce. It helped a lot!

    • Hello Helen, You may use Old Fashioned Oats if you would like, but we cannot guarantee results as we have not tested this recipe with Old Fashioned Oats instead of the recommended quick oats. Thanks for stopping by!
