An Oil Cleanse to Keep Your Skin Timeless-Looking

Wrinkles are not the only sign of aging that visibly add years to our face; sagging skin, age spots, and dull skin tone also reveal the passage of time. And when we rush through our routines, skipping the steps necessary for caring for our skin, we can end up with unhealthy-looking skin.

Maintaining a cleaning regimen that removes makeup and dirt from skin can help keep the look of healthy skin long past youth. This year, renew your efforts to care for your skin’s natural beauty and keep it looking timeless with this simple cleanse!

Instructions:
  1. Open pores by rinsing your face with warm water.
  2. With upward rotations, massage oil mixture all over face for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Leave mixture on face for 1 minute.
  4. Saturate a clean washcloth with warm water.
  5. Place towel on face and leave for 15–30 seconds.
  6. Slowly and gently wipe off oil.
  7. Repeat steps 5–7 until your face feels clean.

Your skin will love an oil cleanse anywhere from twice a day to once a week, depending on how your skin responds.

If your skin still needs a little extra care—maybe a toner, moisturizer, or serum—we recommend any of the products from our ART® line. This skin care line is a great way to maintain your natural beauty.

  • Hello Keri! We would suggest that you pick something from the "All skin types" category. This will help your dry skin but not make your face to oily. You might want to try a few different combinations to see what works best for your skin! Let us know how it goes. Thank you for your question!

    • Hi Diane, We have not tested the V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex for this purpose and would not be able to provide recommendations for using it. You are welcome to try it out. Let us know how it works!

  • Hi, I was wondering what carrier oil would you suggest for skin that breaks out a lot? Thank you.

    • I bought Jojoba Oil as a carrier oil for my skin. Mixing YL Tea Tree Oil with my Jojoba oil helps a lot. I started off with 1/4 cup of oil and mixed in the Tea Tree Oil to the strength I wanted (about 5 drops).

  • I just tried this oil cleanse using avocado oil, Myrrh and Rose oils. I'm really loving the results. I don't feel greasy and I'm amazed how well it took off my makeup.

  • I'm trying to find a good combination of cleanser & moisturizer that works well when I apply makeup. I have super dry skin all over. We can't use almond oil or any oils with tree nuts in my house due to allergies. Any suggestions. I have rose ointment & a lot of the YL oils. Love them!

  • I use the orange blossom face wash and LOVE it, but I need to add something. I don't have blemishes or breakouts, but I have red spots on my face that I'd like to get rid of.

    • Hello Heather! I have found that Lemon Essential Oil, Jasmine, and Geranium, are all great for beautifying skin and evening tone. Be sure to check the usages when using certain oils on your face to avoid the sun if the oil is photosensitive. Also, here is another post that we did that may also help.
