  • Hi Laara! The plastic used in packaging our products including the sprays and Thieves® Household Cleaner is high-end plastics that are formulated to be able to hold the essential oils and retain safety. In addition, the essential oils included in the products are not potent enough to damage the plastic packaging. Please be assured, we strive to use the best products and packaging based on the products and their use. Great question, and thanks for stopping by!

  • Hi Amanda! Any glass bottle is safe to use, as long as it is not left in the sun for long periods of time. The main reason for amber glass, is that it protects the constituents in the oils from harmful UV rays, which can break down the constituents in essential oils. Thanks for stopping by!

We recommend storing the mixture in the glass container and connecting the sprayer as needed. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Should Thieves oil and/or cleaning products be mixed in a glass bottle or is plastic okay?

    • Hello Sarah, We do not recommend storing undiluted essential oils in plastic containers. Using essential oils and essential oil products safely in conjunction with plastic containers depends highly on the type of plastic, the concentration of essential oils, and the amount of time the oils are stored in the container or the amount of time the essential oils come in contact with the plastic parts. We feel that it is better to avoid adding essential oils to plastic contains whenever possible. Using a PETE or PP plastic bottle can help, but we recommend switching to glass or stainless steel if you would like to use the same bottle for extended periods of time. Thanks for stopping by!
