SPOTLIGHT

EVELYN KURUP, ASSISTANT MANAGER, FIELD DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION
What did you choose Young Living?
I choose Young Living because it was love at first smell. As soon as I got out of the lift, I got a whiff of these amazing scents and I thought how amazing it would be to work at a place that stimulates your senses like that. The second reason was because I knew the company was fairly new in Malaysia in 2016 and I was ready to challenge myself to help the company grow. And we’ve grown so much! From below 30 employees to now, 80 employees and counting!
What makes you want to continue your career with Young Living?
I decided to stay because this company appreciates people who work hard; action speaks louder than words. This culture allowed me to not only strive for the best and push my limits but also be appreciated for my hard work – I joined as a Team Lead, got promoted, received awards and spot bonuses for my contribution towards the company. Another reason I stayed is because there’s a huge opportunity for career progression on a local, regional and global level. The higher management cares about treating everyone fairly and they do not discriminate.
What is your current role and what are your responsibilities?
Currently, I’m in Field Development & Education. This is a new role for a new department created in 2019. I will be championing the development of the Sales Team and members of the field in terms of education and training. In my role, I’ll also be supporting any training needs for the other departments in the company. Part of my role is conducting and supporting our members with live training, online training as well as creating materials that can be used both internally and externally.
What is your favorite essential oil?
My favorite oils are Present Time, Joy, Envision, Magnify Your Purpose, etc. I also love Stress Away, White Angelica and Valor. These oils keep me in my best emotional and mindful state.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
I’m honestly looking forward to be able to look back and reflect on all the things I’ve accomplished over 10 years. My family is the most important pillar in my life and I want to be able to look back without any regret, knowing I’ve done all that I could for my family and loved ones. To be able to do that, I need to ensure I continue to be sincere, do things with heart and to always be two steps ahead.
