Young Living’s Global Headquarters Brings Home Coveted Design Awards

December 10, 2019
Lehi, Utah – December 10, 2019 – This year marked an important year for essential oil industry leader Young Living, based in Lehi, Utah. Young Living cut the ribbon on its new Global Headquarters earlier this year.
The new building is the culmination of over a decade of planning, design, and construction. “We envisioned this project about 10 years ago and have been actively working on it the last four years,” said Ron Harris, VP of Real Estate, Construction, and Facilities for Young Living. The headquarters’ unique design, with its complex curvilinear shape, groundbreaking concrete construction, and employee-focused green design, has not gone unnoticed.

Young Living’s Real Estate, Construction, and Facilities team, responsible for all aspects of the site, have brought home several prestigious awards for their work on Young Living’s headquarters.

Young Living’s accomplishments with its new building are of particular pride to the company due to the stiff competition it faced to win these awards. Especially in Silicon Slopes, where Young Living’s headquarters is located, new corporate construction projects are at an all-time high, with each company struggling to capture the public’s attention and stand out.
Jeff Davis, president of Construction Management Consultants of South Jordan and a key partner in the headquarters’ construction, said of the building, “I think it’s the most amazing office building in the state. We feel blessed to have a client like Young Living.”

Kevin Scholz, principal owner of Springville-based Scholz Architects, said of the building, “One of the company’s main slogans is ‘essential oils are nature’s living energy,’ so we came up with design elements with a sense of wellness and nature.” These natural design elements help to create a sense of calm and natural energy in the building for employees and visitors.

Young Living received four high honours:
The 2019 Excellence in Concrete Construction Award from the Intermountain Chapter of the American Concrete Institute for outstanding concrete site element and pavement design
The 2019 Excellence in Masonry Design Award from the Utah Masonry Council for innovative use of next-generation masonry materials
The ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies) Engineering Excellence Award for 2019. This is awarded yearly by the Utah chapter of the ACEC. This award is for the mechanical engineering design of the project.
The 2019 Most Outstanding Project of the Year, Commercial/Office Building over $10 million, by Utah Construction & Design magazine for the most spectacular and distinctive commercial/office building project for 2019
Young Living is honored by these awards and expects many more to come.
