Get Your Glow On: 3 Tips for Great-Looking Skin

Ready to show off a little skin this summer? All this warm weather has us trading in our jeans for cool shorts, our sweaters for tees, and boots for sandals. Your skin will glow this season with our simple tips for keeping it looking luminous and healthy!

  1. Exfoliate

Your skin is constantly working to regenerate. As this process happens, dead skin cells move to the surface. Buildup of dead skin cells can dull your complexion and suck up the moisture and benefits from your skin care products. As you get older, this process slows, increasing buildup.

That’s where exfoliation comes in. Using a gentle exfoliator one to three times a week removes dead skin, helping your inner beauty shine through. Pay attention to how your skin reacts, though, since over-exfoliation can irritate the skin and cause reddening—you know your skin best!

We love our new Lavender-Oatmeal Bar Soap for gently exfoliating your body with oat bran, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple.

If you prefer using a body gel, try using an exfoliating glove or a gentle salt scrub as part of your shower routine.

  1. Moisturize

Once you’ve exfoliated, give back to your skin with your favorite moisturizer! Moisturizer is the easiest way to get back your glow while helping your skin look and feel softer and smoother.

Moisturize immediately after bathing by patting your skin dry with a towel, locking in moisture. Give the sensitive skin on your face added hydration with our ART® Light Moisturizer or brighten and even the appearance of skin tone with Sheerlumé™. If you already use facial moisturizer you love but love the benefits of essential oils, try mixing a small amount of Frankincense or Cedarwood to your daily application of liquid foundation to help your skin look dewy all day long.

Increase the moisture in the air of your workspace with a humidifying diffuser like our Dewdrop™, Home, or Bamboo diffusers.

  1. Take care of yourself

Look and feel your best by following these three easy tips:

Sleep

Your grandmother’s beauty sleep is one of the best ways to rejuvenate your body and skin every single day. The Mayo Clinic has great resource to see how much sleep you need each night, depending on your age and other factors.

Hydrate

Like the rest of your body, your skin dries out when you aren’t drinking enough water. Ensure you stay hydrated by keeping a reusable, spill-proof water bottle on hand at your desk, running errands, or even around the house. Flavor your water by infusing it with Vitality essential oils and fruit. You’ll love the burst of flavor, and your body will love the hydration!

Eat Healthy

Give your body the nutrients it needs! Research suggests that eating a diet full of antioxidant-rich foods like carrots, apricots, leafy greens, tomatoes, blueberries, legumes, fatty fish, and nuts can help improve your overall health and with it, your skin’s appearance.

This summer, be confident in your own beautiful skin! These easy tips are just a few ways to start, if you haven’t already.

  • I have had more compliments with my skin, since using Rose Ointment and 2 drops of Frankincense oil. I apply every evening and most mornings depending on my day. Some mornings I use 1 drop cedarwood, 1 drop lavender and 1 drop Frankincense to Vit E oil, coconut oil, shea oil, almond oil, mixture just to change it up a bit, . Winter days is a must.

  • Hi I am just was learning about all these products and cant wait to get them all. I got to learn what they all do for us. They are amazing I want to say! I can't wait to use them all on myself!
    Thanks so much! Nicole Ace.

  • What an exciting way to get the skin you will love. I started with health and YLEO have been instrumental. NOW on to that beauty glow. I'm ordering the lavender oatmeal bar to exfoliate the skin. I already have the ART line, and will amp it up with addition of oils. Also will concentrate on getting more water. The citrus oils help me enjoy the water.

  • I never realized how important it was to exfoliate so I plan on ordering this soap!

  • OMG I love this post. I am someone who massively suffers from sensitive skin and SO many ‘manufactured’ type products just cause me to break out and get all blotchy and gross which is why I'm always constantly looking for different ways to help reduce this and get that 'glowing complexion' vibe I've always wanted. I'm going on holiday this summer with my boyfriend and I've been really stressing about wearing a bikini because parts of my skin just always seem to be blemished so I'm really trying to improve my skin before then, so videos like this are always a massive help! I have never heard of using Frankincense before so I am particularly excited to try this out! I was actually wondering if you or anyone knew of any types of healthy products I could use to help improve my skin (bearing in mind I have super sensitive skin)? I'm actually currently using Forever Living products because they're natural products and so work really well on my skin. Here's a link to their Facebook page if anyone interested. However I'm still constantly on the look out for different products, and especially with my holiday approaching I am super keen to sort my skin out once and for all so any advice anyone could give me would be massively appreciated!

  • Get Your Glow on Tip: Use Rose Ointment on dry winter skin to hydrate smooth, fine lines around lips and eyes and to nourish your entire face to feel smooth and look smooth.
