Do It Yourself: Essential Oil Infused Foot Bath

We’re no strangers to the fact that life can get busy. Sometimes the first thing to remind you to slow down is your feet! Feeling tired, achy, or sore? Give fatigued feet some much-needed pampering with an essential oil-infused foot bath soak! Soak your feet in this luscious blend of Epsom salt and a few drops of essential oils. Add it to warm or hot water as you see fit, and let the worries of your day float away!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Epsom salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons AlkaLime®
  • Small, glass storage container with a lid
  • Your desired combination of essential oils

Instructions

1. Pour Epsom salt into a small glass container.
2. Add essential oils and stir to mix all of the ingredients.
3. Pour the mixture into your bathtub or a foot basin. Be sure to add enough warm water to cover your feet.
4. Stir the mixture in the water until the salt dissolves. You can do this with your feet or a spoon.
5. Add AlkaLime and stir until it’s dissolved.
6. Soak your feet for 20-30 minutes. Once finished, pat your feet dry with a towel, put on a pair of socks, and go to bed.

  • soaking my feet in a hot hot bath, trying to soften my toenails before clipping .. i used epsom salt, lavender, proshield, tea tree, peppermint & frankincense .. hope it softens as amazingly as it smells!

  • I am putting together an epsom salt bath with a blend of these following oils and drops for total wellness:
    4 drops Anise
    4 drops Geranium Rose
    4 drops Clove Bud
    4 drops Rosemary
    4 drops Lemon
    3 drops Peppermint
    3 drops Neroli

    Then, I will apply coconut oil on her feet after a 15 minute treatment. I would appreciate feedback and any suggestions. Thanks and happy foot soaking!

  • My feet recently had a couple of loooong days. I came home and googled essential oil foot soak and came to this site. I love my YL oils and and soaking right now in one of the recipes I found. I think/know this will become a routine for me! Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions too!

  • if your using Epsom salt you should drink during to keep yourself hydrated, and you shouldn't soak for longer than 15-20 minutes because after this your body will take back what you just pulled out of your body.

  • My foot soak will remove dead hard skin from feet and will treat fungal nail.
    a. 200 ml of malt vinegar
    b. 100ml of any cheap mouthwash
    c. 2 litre of foot bearingly hot water
    Soak for 30 minutes pat dry and rub areas such as heels and / or places were there is dry callus like skin, watch the dead skin come away.
    And your feet will feel soft , no need for expensive creams and lotions, just clean soft skin, and if you have fungal nail apply this lotion to each individual toe.
    Mix in a 30ml bottle
    a. 15ml cider vinegar
    b. 10 drops teatree oil
    c. Add aloe gel to bottle and shake
    Apply with a cotton bud once every day ..
