  • I had a red ink stain on my honey colored walnut table. I've tried everything safe for wood to remove the stain, with no luck. After I received my intro kit, I started learning about the oils. I relearned that lemon is a fantastic stain remover. So, with one drop of Lemon EO on a cotton cloth, and gentle rubbing, the stain was completely gone!

    • Hi Julie! Citrus essential oils are byproducts of the juicing process for fruit juices. The fruits are pressed and squeezed producing juice and essential oil which will rise to the top. The essential oil is separated from the juice through filtration. Hope this is helpful and interesting!

      • Hi, I thought citrus essential oils are cold pressed from the rind? How are they a byproduct then of the juicing process? What is then done with the pulp and juice after expelling the essential oil?

        • Thanks for your questions, Cindy. Citrus essential oils are produced by pressing and squeezing the whole fruit which produces juice and essential oil. The essential oil is then filtered from the juice. The juice and pulp are used in fruit juices. We hope information is helpful!

  • I am hoping someone can answer this question - I am new to YL and am in love with the lemon in my water...I don't like drinking plain water, but I can't get enough of water with oil. Can anyone tell me how to measure the calories in this and any oil? My thought is, anything that tastes that good can't be low in calories!!! Your input is GREATLY appreciated!

      • How many drops can be consumed in a given day? Sometimes I have a few glasses of water in a day and like to add the lemon EO, but want to be cautious not to have too many. How much is acceptable/safe?

    • Lemon essential oil doesn't contain the acid that you are getting from the lemon pulp and your teeth will thank you in the long run! In answer to your question though, yes. 1 to 2 drops in your water. Personally, I love drinking EOs and have several bottles of water throughout the day with 4 to 5 drops of different citrus combos but I've been ingesting them for some time now, you might want to start slower.

  • Julie Czajka, YL Lemon oil is cold pressed from the rind and not from the fruit inside and doesn't have the acidity that the fruit does. That is my understanding.
