3 Innovative Ways to Use Thieves Household Cleaner

Powered by our popular Thieves essential oil blend, Thieves Household Cleaner is perfect for having on hand to keep your house clean and free from harsh chemicals. This jack-of-all-trades comes in handy no matter the task, and we’ve got three new recipes to prove it!

Glass and Mirror Cleaner
  • 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 5 drops Citrus Fresh™ essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 3 cups water

Add all ingredients to a spray bottle and shake well to combine. To use, spray windows and glass surfaces liberally and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth.

Deep Cleaning Scrub
  • 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 2–3 tablespoons baking soda

Combine Thieves Household Cleaner and enough baking soda to form a thick paste. Apply mixture with a clean cloth, sponge, or scrubbing brush and scour the surface thoroughly. Let sit for 15 minutes, and rinse everything clean.

Carpet Spot Cleaner
  • 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 6 cups water

Mix water and Thieves Household Cleaner in a spray bottle, shaking to combine. To use, lightly spray the spot and blot with a clean white cloth. Repeat as needed.

  • I understand this cleaner is safe to use around kids, but what if my child accidentally ingested it? I want to completely rid my home of dangerous cleaners.

However, if a child or infant swallows an essential oil, administer milk, Agave, honey or other safe, oil-soluble liquid. If dilution does not provide relief, contact your health care professional.   • Yes, I know about the Thieves cleaner. It really works fantastic. I found The Quick Maid, one of the top commercial cleaning companies in Ottawa also use it.

  • I used thieves to clean my ovens, what a great job and the smell was wonderful. 1/2 cup White vinegar, 1 capful thieves household cleaner, 4 drops thieves oil,4 drops lemon oil. Sprinkle baking soda on bottom of oven then pour mixture of oils/vinegar, let bubble up and set a few minutes. Wipe up and the oven is cleaned. No nasty odors.

  • I've had someone ask if her pine kitchen cabinets can be cleaned with THC. They are old & not sealed. Will THC mixed with water hurt the cabinets or should she use THC with Olive Oil to degrease the cabinets?

    • Hi Ellen, If the Thieves® Household Cleaner is used according to the label directions and dilution ratios there should be no negative effects from using it on the wood cabinets. We recommend doing a spot test in an inconspicuous location before cleaning all the cabinets.
