Don’t you love how versatile Young Living products are? When Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak was first released, I was assessing how busy my week already is and thought, “I buy organic and clean produce. I can’t see that I need this.”

Boy, I was so wrong! I started reading the WOW experiences that others were having with the Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak and decided to give it a go. It is hands-down one of the best products Young Living has ever made. If you’ve not tried it – beware! You are going to absolutely LOVE it.

I’m stunned by how much dirt, dust and ‘gunk’ there is on my organic produce. It looks so much brighter and fresher after a soak.

How to use Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak

This plant-based product is designed to cleanse your fresh produce of chemical residues, dirt and sprays. It’s super effective on your produce and cost-effective too.

You never know who’s been handling your fruit and veggies before you bought it, so the Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak also gives you the ultimate peace of mind knowing you are eating ‘clean’ food.

Benefits

  • The next best thing to buying organic produce.
  • Removes chemical residues, sprays & dirt from both organic & non-organic produce.
  • Improves the look of your produce.
  • Safely and effectively cleans fruits and vegetables.
  • Doesn’t affect taste of fruits or vegetables.
  • Highly concentrated for long-lasting use.

Remember – this is super concentrated, so you don’t need much!

Young Living Directions:

  1. Use 1½ teaspoons for every litre of water.
  2. Completely cover produce and soak for 1- 2 minutes.
  3. Rinse with clean water.

Special Tip: I fill a salad bowl with lukewarm water and pop in the Fruit & Veggie Soak at the end so it doesn’t froth. If you love froth, add it into the bowl before you add the water.

The Broccoli Test – Simply WOW!!!

I bought a beautiful organic broccoli from the organic farmers’ markets. I soaked half of it in Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak for 2 minutes, then flipped it over, and soaked the other half in filtered water for 2 minutes. Then I sat it on the bench and took this pic of it. Check out the difference between the two sides!!!

How to Properly Wash Your Fruits and Vegetables Test

The left side with the deep, beautiful green colours has been soaked in the Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak. It really shows you how well this product strips the chemical and other residues off your food.

Why does water soak into the Broccoli after the test?

If you do this test yourself, you will see how water bounces off the broccoli that has been soaked in plain water or a mix of bicarb of soda (baking soda) and vinegar, whereas water penetrates the broccoli that’s been soaked in the Thieves Fruit and Veggie Soak. Are you curious as to why that is?

The Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak is formulated with four simple natural plant-based ingredients (Decyl Glucoside, Glycerin, Citric Acid and Sodium Citrate), and 3 pure essential oil blends (Thieves, Purification, and DiGize).

Decyl Glucoside (non-GMO and plant-derived) is a mild non-ionic SURFACTANT that lowers the surface tension of the water to help remove dirt and oils.

Vegetable Glycerin is also a SURFACTANT. This is an emulsifier that improves the Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak’s ability to wash away dirt, pesticides, and other contaminants from conventional and organically grown produce.

SURFACTANTS have both hydrophilic (water-binding), and hydrophobic (water-repelling) properties. The hydrophilic action attaches the surfactant to the water (which is why the water starts to run through the broccoli after it’s been soaked, rather than being repelled and running off). The hydrophobic action of the surfactants attracts dirt and grease to it, so these impurities can then be washed it away.

SURFACTANTS play a significant role in removing dirt and waxes and are far superior to just soaking your produce in water or a vinegar and bicarb solution. That’s why you’ll really notice the difference in your food after you’ve soaked it in the Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak.
