Physical Self Care
You decide you are going to starting running long distances. You set a plan to wake up at 6 a.m. each day early to run. The first day you wake up and run 2 miles but then the next day you sleep through your alarm. Then you are sore from the first days run so you skip the 3rd day and before you know it you give up on the goal of running marathons. Does this sound familiar to you at all?
Keep in mind that your self care does not have to look like anyone else’s. Moving your body doesn’t have to fit into any box of what fitness “should look like”.
Focus on loving yourself and stay away from comparison.
Physical self care often gets the all or nothing approach and it does not have to be that way. Typical diets start in January or on Mondays and are given up on before the end of the week. Small simple daily lifestyle changes are what can make permanent shifts in your life.

Find an activity that you enjoy doing. Moving your body doesn’t have to fit into any box of what fitness should look like. If you like to dance, go dancing. If you like hike, go hiking. If you enjoy going to the gym and lifting weights then go and do that.

The number one reason people don’t exercise is lack of time. Try to add exercise into tasks that you already do through out the day. Do 10 squats while you brush your teeth, calf raises as you are putting away laundry, bicep curl the gallon of milk after you pour some into a cereal bowl for your kids. Get creative in how you move your body.

Taking care of yourself is an essential part of taking care of others.
The healthier the tree, the better the fruit it can offer.
Supplementing daily with good quality products that contain plant derived vitamins, minerals and other adaptogens to fuel the body with what it needs is an integral part of physical self care. Our bodies work hard on a daily basis to keep us alive and the least we can do to honor it is make sure we give it what it needs to continue to thrive.
Supplements will never take the place of a balanced diet, nor should we see them as “magic pills” but we know that despite our best efforts to eat a balanced diet, there are several factors that make it is almost impossible to obtain all essential nutrients from food alone.
