Why Clean Scents Matters
At Young Living, we believe clean living is about making intentional choices.
Everything we breathe in, apply on our skin, or absorb into our bodies has an impact.
Unfortunately, many everyday products — including perfumes — contain synthetic chemicals that can disrupt our hormones, irritate our skin, and even affect our sleep and mood.
So when we choose natural alternatives, we’re really choosing to live lighter, feel brighter, and show up more authentically.
Perfume may smell divine, but have you ever wondered what’s really inside the bottle?
Most commercial perfumes are built on synthetic chemicals.
That’s why they smell exactly the same, season after season.
But here’s the problem: those chemicals don’t just disappear after we spray them.
They build up in our bodies and can cause headaches, sensitivities, or worse.

Fun fact: many perfumes contain petrochemicals, the same base used in plastics and fuel.
Not all perfumes contain all these chemicals,
but because fragrance formulations are considered “trade secrets”,
companies are not required to disclose every ingredient.
.
That’s why labels often just say “fragrance” or “parfum”, which can hide dozens of undisclosed chemicals.
