Unfortunately not all plants grow the same way, which means all products from plants, such as their fruits and their essential oils, vary in quality. This is due to both intrinsic and extrinsic factors related to the plant.
In other words, a plant’s health and the quality of its products will depend on its interaction with the soil type and what’s in it (think pesticides or the water used to maintain it!), the climate, and even the time of day in which it’s harvested. When it comes to the essential oil of a plant, other factors come into play after it’s harvested, including the extraction method being used, the temperature and pressure used to extract it and the storage conditions to name a few.
