YL’s Saul Speirs wins Corporate Counsel Award

Congratulations to Saul Speirs for his selection as one of Utah Business magazine’s 2021 Corporate Counsel honourees!  When he first started at Young Living eight years ago, the company was a fraction of the size it is today. Saul took a visionary stance, helping Young Living to prepare for our next phase of growth. He has been a backbone of Young Living’s general counsel office, using his knowledge and skills to improve the company’s overarching legal operations.

Saul prepared Young Living for future challenges by creating processes, procedures, and committees that smoothly routed legal and regulatory matters. He focused on what could become a risk to the company and set plans and strategies in place to prevent those risks from materializing.

Saul is also known throughout the company as a champion for sustainability. On Young Living’s behalf, he partnered with NuSkin and Adobe to form the Utah Sustainable Business Coalition. This coalition’s mission is to align Utah businesses’ efforts to advance sustainable business practices and raise awareness of upcoming legislation. In October 2020, the Utah Sustainable Business Coalition was recognized by then-Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox—now Utah Governor Cox—who thanked the coalition for working to reduce their environmental impact.

The 2021 Corporate Counsel Award recognizes exceptional in-house counsellors who work across an array of industries, including businesses, nonprofits, and other private sector organizations. Utah Business will feature Saul in its April 2021 issue and honour him at a special luncheon event held on Thursday, April 22, at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
