Young Living Celebrates Women’s Independence for International Women’s Day

LEHI, UTAH – MARCH 7, 2025

Young Living, the world leader in essential oils and oil-infused products, is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day by championing women’s independence through fair-pay opportunities on partner farm Phytoprod in rural Morocco.

In the Moroccan countryside, where opportunities are scarce and many women are dependent on others for financial support, Young Living is helping rewrite the story. On Young Living’s partner farm Phytoprod, myrtle and rosemary are grown and hand-harvested by more than 1,000 people during peak seasons—and 95 percent of them are women.

These hardworking women receive pay that is equal to their male counterparts, and their wages are deposited into their own bank accounts. For those who do not yet have a bank account, Phytoprod supports them by facilitating account creation, ensuring they have direct access to their earnings.

Nursery manager at Phytoprod, Soumia Khassouani, says the farm has helped women achieve financial independence and become self-reliant. She shares, “I used to go to other cities to look for work. Today I work close to home, so I was able to save money and take care of my life, my family, and my community too.”

Young Living’s commitment to social impact extends beyond its efforts to support women. Phytoprod is deeply committed to protecting the earth through sustainable farming practices. With an on-site laboratory, Quality Control teams, and distillation and extraction facilities, the farm ensures full traceability, long-term sourcing, and guaranteed quality. Here’s how:

  • Organic certification: All farmland is organically certified under US and EU standards.

  • Micro-irrigation: A 1,500 km micro-irrigation network conserves water.

  • Biodiversity preservation: Endangered and endemic plants are cultivated on the farm.

  • Renewable energy: Solar power fuels operations, while biomass is recycled into compost and biofuel.

The partnership that produces Young Living’s Rosemary and Myrtle essential oils not only provides high-quality products to customers but also empowers women to achieve financial stability and independence, creating a positive impact that ripples across families and communities.
