Lehi, UT – January 5, 2016 – Young Living Essential Oils, the world leader in essential oils, through its philanthropic channel, the Young Living Foundation, donated more than a million dollars in monetary and product donations throughout 2015. Young Living covers all administrative costs for the foundation, enabling it to optimize its reach by ensuring that 100 percent of the funds raised are allocated to those in need. The foundation is funded through the generous contributions of Young Living members and employees.
From local fundraisers and service projects within the United States to supporting schools, orphanages, and organizations around the world, Young Living is dedicated to not only fulfilling but exceeding its corporate social responsibility.
“Young Living’s mission has always been tied to making this world a better place and empowering and improving the lives of others,” said Nikki Davis, Senior Director of Global Philanthropy for Young Living and Executive Director of the Young Living Foundation. “We are proud to be able to provide much needed support to our global philanthropic partners as they work tirelessly to improve the lives of those they serve.”
The Young Living Foundation seeks partnerships and projects that align with its mission to empower individuals to defy human limitations by providing education, wellness, and business opportunities. In addition to supporting hundreds of smaller projects and partnerships, the foundation currently focuses on five large projects throughout the world, along with service projects and matching funds campaigns.
In May 2015, through corporate matching funds and member and employee contributions, Young Living raised $100,000 in less that one week to support Red Cross relief efforts after the devastating earthquakes in Nepal.
In December 2015, Young Living employees donated items and participated in a service project to provide stockings, Christmas cards, and hygiene kits for children at Family Promise of Salt Lake, a community outreach program focused on providing housing for low-income families.
The Young Living Academy in Ecuador was built by Young Living in 2009 to meet the needs of the children in the area. Over the past year and a half, Young Living members have donated more than $250,000 to build a high school with five classrooms, library, teacher workroom, science lab, and bathrooms.
In 2015, Young Living and its members raised more than $35,000 to support the Maestral Orphanage in Croatia. The donation enabled the foundation to sponsor a new apartment, providing six more children the opportunity to live in a healthier environment and reach their full potential.
In fall 2015, the foundation team traveled to Uganda to purchase land and draft contracts to build Sole Hope a new outreach home and clinic, with funds raised through donations at Young Living’s 2015 International Grand Convention.
Through donations received at Young Living’s 2015 International Grand Convention, the foundation purchased land and began building African Hearts a new school for 200 preschool-aged children. The donations enabled the foundation to double the impact of the African Hearts slum program.
At Young Living’s 2015 International Grand Convention, the foundation raised enough money to purchase more than 4,000 mosquito nets for Healing Faith Uganda. The foundation director and several members went on a humanitarian trip to Uganda to deliver the donation.
