Young Living Supports the Annual Growing Roses Conference

May 2018 marked the commencement of the inaugural Growing Roses Conference hosted by the Kappa Delta Chi sorority’s local Utah chapter. With a mission to strengthen teenage girls of color to take responsibility for their futures by building their self-worth through education, culture, and service, the organizers focused their efforts on 31 young women of color, lovingly referred to as “Rosebuds.” The attendees participated in a Women Who Rock panel, Girls & Women Power Lunch, and other activities, including an experiential workshop titled Changing our Communities, highlighting civic engagement, education, and leadership.

Olga De La Cruz, Young Living’s Latin America Marketing Manager, represented Young Living Essential Oils and its commitment to whole-life wellness by participating as a “Femtor” and gifting participants with products from the Savvy Minerals by Young Living® makeup collection.

De La Cruz says of the experience, “The girls talked about wanting to see changes in their community that include more acceptance of people of color and those who are different than mainstream, less poverty, less violence, and more education. I was struck by the thoughtful, heartwarming, and insightful responses given by such young minds.”

Young Living Essential Oils is proud to be a purposed, focused company and will continue to serve the communities in which we work and live corporately and individually.
