Product Claims Tips

DO's

1. Use the product as it is labelled.

2. Understand the product you are talking about and its uses.

3. Use words like “Moisturise”, “Cooling sensation”, “Refreshing”.

4. Here's what you need to know:

How would a consumer look at that claim?
What would they infer from this image or phrase?

Examples of what you can say:

1. “I wind down in the evenings with a good book and Lavender diffusing next to my bed.”

2. “I drink NingXia Red once a day for its tangy flavour and because it is a refreshing drink.”

3. “After an intense cycling class, I apply Deep Relief Roll-On to my temples, forehead, and the back of my neck.”

DONT's

1. Don’t say “Use this product to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a disease...”.

2. Understand what you cannot say about the use of the product.

3. Don’t use words like: Antioxidant, Immunity, Killing germs.”, “Refreshing”.

4. Here's what you need to know:

Examples of what you can say:

1. “I diffuse Lavender every night to help my insomnia.”

2. “Drinking NingXia Red once a day helps me manage my Diabetes.”

3. “I use my Deep Relief Roll-On to manage pain and inflammation.”
