A friend recommended ‘Theives Cleaner’ to me and there’s no going back to my former cleaning products. It’s easy to use, hassle free and renders my kitchen and bathroom sparkling clean. Thieves clean is indeed very helpful.
It would be great if the bottles were brown plastic still! They are much more appealing and advertised that way!
Where can you find glass spray bottles for the thieves cleaner?
Hey Vickie! When I looked up glass spray bottles online, I found some on Amazon and Premium Vials. I am sure that you could find them at other superstores as well. I would just be sure to call customer service beforehand to see if they are in stock at the store to save you a trip. Hope that helps!
Are Thieves labels avail to purchase to put on the bottles?
Hi Rachelle, We do not sell our labels individually. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks for stopping by!
I found this board and I find it really useful and it has helped me a lot for cleaning. I hope to give something back and help others like you helped me.
Can I use thieves household cleaner in a clear plastic spray bottle?
Hi Christine, We do not recommend storing undiluted essential oils in plastic containers. Using essential oils and essential oil products safely in conjunction with plastic containers depends highly on the type of plastic, the concentration of essential oils, and the amount of time the oils are stored in the container or the amount of time the essential oils come in contact with the plastic parts. We recommend using a glass spray bottle when using the Thieves® Household Cleaner. Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Can you use thieves cleaner on the hall of a fiberglass boat?
Hello Rachel, The Thieves® Household Cleaner is safe at a 15:1 dilution or higher for most non-porous surfaces, such as fiberglass. Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Hi! I made a spray for my kitchen counter tops, using the Thieves Household Cleaner. I diluted it according to the label. How long should I let it sit on the counters before wiping clean?
Hi Andrea, Great question! It is not typically necessary to let Thieves® Household Cleaner sit on a surface for a specific amount of time. However, you may let the cleaner remain on the surface depending on your own personal preferences and the surface that is being cleaned. If the surface is in need of heavy cleaning, you may want to use a more concentrated mixture of the cleaner and allow it to sit on the surface for a desired period of time.
Is Thieves cleaner safe for Quartz countertops?
Hi Kristy, Great question. We suggest diluting according to the label and doing a spot test in an inconspicuous location before using the Thieves® Household Cleaner on the entire surface, especially in the case of quartz surfaces. If the surface appears porous we would encourage you to use a different product that may be better suited to the surface.
I’m new to your products. My dog’s Veterinarian has been using them with great results and I’m going to continue at home. I would like to use the Thieves Cleaner but not sure if it has soy products. I’m highly allergic, as in epic-pen allergic, so need this info before I begin anything new. Thanking you in advance for your help! Patti
Hi Patti, Thanks for stopping by with your comment. Thieves® Household Cleaner does not contain any ingredients derived from soy. It is possible the cleaner is manufactured in a facility which uses soy in product formulations. Though there may be soy processed in the same facility please rest assured that according to cGMP’s (current good manufacturing practices) the machinery is cleansed and sanitized between products to prevent contamination. If you have additional concerns about the use of the product we encourage you to speak to your health care provider.
Thank you for the detailed entry! I’m so excited to put this to action! Do I need to use a glass spray bottle to contain the basic cleaner? Can I just use a normal plastic spray bottle?
Great question! An HDPE or PET type plastic spray bottle will be fine to use for a few days. However, we would suggest switching to a glass spray bottle for long term storage.
Why would you need a glass bottle when it comes in a plastic one?
Hi Joy, After much research and discussion, we have determined that a glass bottle is not necessary. It is sufficient to store the Thieves Household Cleaner in a HDPE or PET type plastic bottle. Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Very nice post!I love reading articles like this, with detailed description. Thanks a lot!
So nicely described steps for cleaning. Thanks a lot for sharing your ideas here! Regards!
Thank you for the great suggestions! Can you please tell me why it’s suggested to use the Thieves Spray on the toilet knob rather than the basic cleaner? Is it because it leaves the knob streak free? Also, I am guessing that the basic spray is a strong enough concentration to kill germs around the toilet? I would like to clean the toilets in hotel rooms with the basic cleaner, but I am concerned about what concentration to use.
Hi Sarah, thanks for stopping by! You are welcome to use the basic cleaner on toilet knobs as well—we just typically recommend Thieves Spray because it is designed for quick, easy use and is particularly suited for cleaning on-the-go. And our Thieves all-purpose cleaner recipe is great for cleaning toilets! It you want a deeper scrubbing solution, try mixing a few drops of Thieves essential oil with ¼ cup baking soda. Put in toilet bowl and scrub with a brush. Let sit for a few minutes, then scrub again with the brush and flush.
you don’t have the bathtub listed…use the same stuff from the sink? i have a shower stall that is mainly molded plastic so I am very curious as to what to use. i just used the 15:1 recipe on the back of the bottle but it didn’t do as good a job as i would have liked.
Terrie,
Both the lids from the 14.4 oz and 64 oz bottles hold 10ml, which is 2 teaspoons. Therefore you can use either or;).
Just a quick question to clarify which lid you are talking about. The lid from the 14.4 oz bottle or the lid from the 64 oz bottle. Maybe they hold the same volume of product, I don’t know. Thanks in advance for your clarification.
BTW, I really liked this blog entry! Thanks for all the great tips and recipes!
You can’t go wrong with the wipes or the spray, we use this stuff everywhere!!
I love to clean Thieves makes it so much easier.
We always purchase Thieves Wipes when we know we will be visiting doctors or a hospital visit—-you can never be too clean there—the nurses appreciate entering the room with the wonderful scent.
