Coping With Flu Season Using Young Living Products

0 Posted by - November 4, 2013 - Archive

With all of the uncertainty in the world today, one thing you can always count on is flu season. Every year, as the days become shorter and colder, more and more individuals come down with flu-like symptoms. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, flu season can start as early as October, with its peak coming in January and February.

The CDC recommends the following six steps for preventing the flu:

  1. Avoid close contact with others.
  2. Stay home when you are sick.
  3. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
  4. Clean your hands.
  5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
  6. Practice other good health habits.

Notice how the first five recommendations are straight forward, while the last is a little vague. I would like to recommend a few ways to “practice other good health habits” using Young Living products.

  1. Keep germs out—I keep a bottle of Thieves® Waterless Hand Purifier by the front door. Anyone who enters my home quickly learns that they need to sanitize upon entering.
  2. Protect from the inside out—Although not common knowledge, the digestive system is one of the body’s first lines of defense against disease. Using Young Living’s Life 5probiotic supports a healthy immune system by delivering billions of beneficial bacteria strains. Inner Defense and NingXia Red® are also great options for those looking to support the immune system with pure essential oils.
  3. Overcoming sickness—If you are unable to avoid getting sick, may I suggest ImmuPro and Thieves essential oil blend. I like to apply Thieves to the soles of my feet and add ImmuPro to my nightly regimen to provide my body the support it needs.

Although not rocket science, I’ve found that these natural suggestions help protect my home during the dreaded flu season. Please share your secrets to staying healthy during this time of year!

I was given a small Thieves hand purifier and one of the 1 oz Thieves oil blend sprays a few years ago. I have to tell you, Thieves is the reason I became so enamored of the Young Living products. From the beginning, I adored the scent of the oil mix – cloves, cinnamon, lemon, eucalyptus, rosemary. How delicious does that sound? I stretched out the Thieves products I had received for quite some time. I traveled with them (on planes), and used them when I knew I would be in public where I could possible encounter many germs. I have not had a cold since I began using the Thieves products. I have had people sneeze and cough in my face, yet have not contracted a cold myself. Definite proof that modern medicine needs to take a step back and look at our ancestral remedies. If you want to start with one product…. pick one from the Thieves line. You will be pleasantly surprised!

Thieves is an old faithful. I’ve used it over 10 years. I dab it on my wrists when I’m working in a classroom of children. They like the smell and I like the protection.

When the air gets cold and dry my throat tends to be the first to be affected so I like to make sure I have some Thieves lozenges around. I also carry the Thieves spray and spray my office as well as diffuse the oil at home. So love all the Thieves products!!
