Young Living’s commitment to unmatched sourcing has been present from the start. Gary Young traveled the world personally inspecting the growth, harvest, and distillation of his oil suppliers. He would personally smell, touch, and sometimes taste the oils before purchasing. This vast knowledge of essential oils formed partnerships with trusted suppliers with whom Young Living continues to work today.
In November 2008, Gary Young journeyed across the globe to visit some of these trusted suppliers. His travels took him to the clove distilleries in Antananarivo, Madagascar, and the frankincense distilleries in Nairobi, Kenya, to ensure that only the purest raw materials go into every batch of Young Living Essential Oils.
While Gary can’t personally test every batch of essential oil, he has established rigorous requirements and protocols to ensure the purity and potency of Young Living essential oils. He has personally mentored and trained many of the scientists and professionals who watch over every step of oil production, and these experts ensure that every oil passes gas chromatograph and mass spectrometer analysis before being deemed worthy of the Young Living label.
