Young Living Celebrates 20 Years in France

July 25, 2012

SALT LAKE CITY—July 25, 2011—Young Living, the world leader in essential oils, has just concluded a celebration of the 20th anniversary of its farm in Simian-la-Rotonde, France. At the event, a group of distributors led by D. Gary Young, founder, president, and CEO of Young Living Essential Oils, toured the countryside, visited historical landmarks, and participated in harvesting and distilling operations at the Young Living lavender farm.

To celebrate this momentous occasion in Young Living history, distributors enjoyed a tour of distilleries used throughout French history. They were then taken to the Young Living farm at Simian-la-Rotonde, where they picked lavender and helped distill it.

The group also traveled a portion of Route Napoleon, the route Napoleon used on his return from Elba. Also called the Lavender Route, the road is one of the principal means of importing lavender to perfume factories in Grasse. During the travels on the route, Gary explained that by planting French lavender in the U.S. decades ago, before much of it was destroyed in France, he is a proud partner in bringing lavender back to France.

Lina Maria Lamos, a Young Living distributor from Spain, explained, “It was totally spectacular to watch the distilling process in person, to live the whole process. To smell it and touch it is a unique experience and one you can’t get from reading about it.”
